"Outcasts United" follows a pivotal season in the life of a refugee soccer team, their families and their charismatic coach as they struggle to build new lives in a small town overwhelmed by change. Theirs is a story about resilience in the face of extraordinary hardship, the power of one person to make a difference and the daunting challenge of creating community in a place where people seem to have so little in common.
About One Book, One San Diego
"Outcasts United" will be the 2010 One Book One San Diego selection! An online vote was conducted during the month of October. "Outcasts United" received 61 percent of 1,500 votes. The other two choices were "Dreamers of the Day" and "Song Yet Sung." We look forward to reading "Outcasts United" with you in the coming months!
