New starters include Mexican corn soup, made with lime, chili powder, roasted corn and micro cilantro, priced at $18; albacore crudo with green papaya, spiced nuts, crispy shallots, lemongrass Thai dressing and cilantro, priced at $24; and short rib skewers, featuring three Korean-style Bulgogi skewers finished with green onion cauda, priced at $27. New entrées include swordfish katsu, served with a cabbage and mustard green salad, takuan, creamy karashi mustard and tonkatsu sauce, priced at $48; a 14-ounce New York strip accompanied by bone marrow, charred rapini, crispy onions and wasabi demi, priced at $79; and scallops and pork soup dumplings with bok choy, garlic crunch broth and green onion, priced at $46. The sushi program introduces two new specialty rolls: the Hannya, made with spicy tuna, cucumber, yamagobo, kampachi, big eye tuna, avocado, bubu arare and nikiri, priced at $26; and The Lunatic, featuring soft shell crab, blue crab mix, yamagobo, seared albacore, avocado, ikura and matcha ponzu, priced at $32. Passport to Diplomacy is an exciting annual celebration of international engagement, cultural exchange, and citizen diplomacy. This collaborative event brings together the San Diego World Affairs Council (SDWAC), the San Diego Diplomacy Council (SDDC), and the House of Pacific Relations International Cottages to create an immersive afternoon of discovery, dialogue, and global connection in the heart of Balboa Park. A signature feature of the event is the Passport Program, a longtime San Diego World Affairs Council tradition that encourages attendees to experience the rich cultural diversity represented by the International Cottages. Upon checking in, all pre-registered participants receive an official event passport. Throughout the event, guests are invited to explore the participating cottages, meet cultural ambassadors, learn about countries from around the world, and collect a unique passport stamp from each participating nation. Visitors who complete their passport by collecting stamps from every participating cottage may submit it for entry into an opportunity drawing for a $500 airfare gift card, generously sponsored by Bright Light Volunteers International. The 44th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair features 75 musical acts on six stages and is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026. Southern California’s largest free two-day music festival is held on 10 city-blocks in the community of Normal Heights. 2026 headlining performers are: Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer Bardo, influential American rapper and record producer Masta Ace, legendary blues guitarist Chris Duarte Group, accordion driven American Cali-Mex roots band Los Fabulocos, dub-hop and world music collective band Boostive, haunted bossa nova and exotica band Creepxotica, party psychedelic rock band the Wild Wild Wets, San Diego’s original brass band Euphoria Brass Band, “Queen of boogie woogie” Sue Palmer & Her Motel Swing Orchestra, beer-soaked, full-tilt rock ‘n’ roll band the Midnight Rivals.
