New to Mahjong? Start here. This three-hour beginner workshop at AR Workshop Coronado covers everything you need to sit down and play American Mahjong with confidence.
You will learn tile recognition, game setup, how to read the National Mah Jongg League card, gameplay fundamentals, and strategies for building winning hands, followed by guided beginner gameplay so you can practice what you have learned.
Your registration includes a Mahjong 101 lesson packet and the 2026 Official National Mah Jongg League card. No experience necessary. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
Advance registration required. Minimum of four guests.
