Composting on your farm, ranch, or large property is an ideal way to manage crop residues, manure, and other organic waste while creating a stellar soil amendment. Join us at the beautiful International Equestrian Center in Ramona for this three-week course. We will address the unique strategies, challenges, and opportunities that arise through medium-scale composting. This course does not address typical residential composting or large-scale commercial composting. It is intended for those mid-sized systems that fall in between, particularly horse ranches and small farms. Course Dates: Saturday, January 20, 9:30 A.M. – 12 P.M. Shoreline Community Services is a local nonprofit serving the neighbors in the Central Beach Area who are living on the streets, unable to obtain housing due to numerous barriers, and in need of urgent services, like medical care and basic needs (showers, laundry, etc.) 100% of the proceeds go back to our program services!

Have you wanted to dive into the mindful, rhythmic, magic of weaving? In this rigid heddle loom workshop, students will learn to weave their own unique handwoven fabric in both plain weave (a classic, simple pattern) and clasped weft (where two wefts interconnect, creating unique patterns). Each student will learn the basics of how the loom works, a variety of simple weaving techniques, plain weave, clasped weft weaving, and finally, hemstitching for a finished piece. Students will weave a length of handwoven fabric of their choosing using the techniques in-class. Looms will be pre-warped in this class and students will weave together on Ashford Looms with 100% cotton fiber for a fiber-friendly afternoon. This incredible afternoon will have breast cancer survivors rocking the runway. Choreo & _______ is a performance plus an activity that allows for people to engage in something physical between short dance performances. This intersection of performance and participation creates a unique embodiment opportunity for dancers and audiences-participants alike. Choreo & _______ is about engaging with meaningful opportunities to move our bodies, play, enjoy physical expression, and build community through movement. Under the direction of Lead Artist Martin Anthony Dorado, Choreo & SCARYaoke will include dance performance + karaoke, spooky style. Between performances by Meesh Herd & Giovanna Francisco, The Tchotchkes, Tina Carreras, Erin Kracht, and Brianna Pilkinton (Accipiter Dance), the audience will have the opportunity to perform karaoke featuring '80s, '90s, and early '00s jams, and mingle in a festive costume party environment.
