  • Join us on Wednesday evenings for a restorative yoga session at the Museum of Us! All are welcome, regardless of physical ability, experience, or age. Classes are held in the Museum rotunda by yoga instructor, Lunita Velásquez. The evening classes promote relaxation and restoration by strengthening the mind-body connection with deep stretching, breathwork, and a welcoming space. All are welcome, regardless of physical ability or yoga experience. People under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one for your practice. We encourage guests to wear layers and bring blocks, blankets, and/or any additional yoga accessories they would prefer that will support their practice. The Museum will have a limited number of clean blankets, blocks, and mats available to lend out if needed. The class will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. Please plan ample time for parking within Balboa Park. Museum doors will open at 5:15 p.m. for check-in and to set up your mat. To maintain a quiet restorative experience for all, the Museum doors will be closed and locked at 5:40 p.m. Registration is available online and walk-ins are welcome.   • In an effort to give back to the Maui community, barleymash is partnering with Maker’s Mark on September 14. The Gaslamp Quarter restaurant and bar will have food and drink specials available, all day, with proceeds to be donated to a staff member, from a sister location – Sandbar, whose family was impacted by the fires. Food Special - Crispy Chicken Katsu, rice, and mac salad served with Halo Halo Drink Specials: Ohana Perks made with Makers Mark Bourbon, Espresso liqueur, cold brew, and sweetened condensed milk, and Maui Vice, created with Makers Mark Bourbon, coconut, pineapple, and lime. There will also be a raffle for some really cool prizes that include a snowboard, cooler, and a Grand Prize raffle of an in-home Private Dinner for 4 cooked by Executive Chef Kevin Templeton.   • Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen has partnered with Temecula’s award-winning Doffo Winery for an exclusive Winemaker Dinner where Damian Doffo will present wine pairings as they are poured with each course and share his love of winemaking. Celebrating harvest season, it’s the perfect time to taste some of the newly released wines alongside some delicious Hell’s Kitchen favorites. Menu highlights include Golden Beet Salad with greek yogurt, kumquats, pistachio granola and a white balsamic vinaigrette; Crispy Skin Salmon served with seabean salad, Iberico chorizo and citrus beurre blanc; crowd-favorite Beef Wellington with potato purée, glazed vegetables and red wine demi; and not to forget, the best-selling Sticky Toffee Pudding. Carefully selected wine pairings from Doffo include 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, 2019 Mistura bordeaux blend and 2022 Viognier. With Lorelei on Tenor Ukulele, Jon on Gypsy Guitar, and both singing from the deep wells of our booming hearts, our music will transport you back when times were harder, yet the good times, more colorful, vibrant, and bold. She’s a little bit country, he’s a little bit rock ‘n’ roll… well, sort of. Lorelei, vocals and ukulele, is a classically trained vocalist that has fallen in love with swing jazz and Americana. Jon, vocals and guitar, is a certified jazz nerd having fallen in love with Billie Holiday, Lester Young, and Charlie Christian at the age of 16. He also has a soft spot for roots music, especially Sonny Terry and Brownie Mcghee. They decided to make it easier to split the check and got married in October, 2015. Their whole life is music. They gig, teach, compose, and record. They can be found performing their blend of swing classics, gypsy jazz, Americana, and originals all over Southern California.
