There is currently a critical need for blood donations across the country, so to help engage the community and encourage blood donations, the San Diego Automotive Museum and San Diego Blood Bank will be hosting a blood drive behind the Museum on the Pan American Plaza in Balboa Park. Additionally, the Automotive Museum will have exciting cars on display outside during the blood drive for participants to enjoy. There will also be special guests, like former NASCAR driver Austin Cameron, Paul Dyke, the owner of El Cajon Ford, and Sunny Trent, a Barona Driver and angler. Those who donate blood will receive two (2) free admission passes to the San Diego Automotive Museum that do not expire. Snacks and water will be provided, but all donors are highly encouraged to arrive hydrated before donating blood. Want to donate blood? Individuals who are interested in donating blood at this blood drive are encouraged to create an appointment online. A photo ID will be required during check-in at the event. Looking forward to our first reading and celebration of the new anthology! All 2021-22 San Diego Poetry Annual authors are invited to read at Point Loma Library, and open mic to follow. Poets with a poem in this year’s anthology will have priority at the mic. However, if you haven’t published with us and would like to read, by all means come and sign up on the evening of the event. Belonging: A Place for Everyone Celebrating 50 Years of San Diego Dance Theater This celebratory dance performance will feature dances that span the life of SDDT. Calling all young rugby players! The San Diego Legion, San Diego’s very own Major League Rugby team, is hosting another Skills Clinic for U8 - U15 groups! The clinic will take place on Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the San Dieguito Sports Complex. The Legion Community Foundation program aligns with player growth and simultaneously drives talent and athlete development. The local rising rugby talent will have the opportunity to train with the San Diego Legion coaches and players - all of which share a passion for developing and growing the game locally. Clinic highlights include: • Elite coaching staff • Introduction to rugby for new players • Skills and decision making games • Position-specific coaching • Individual development plan • Tactical game awareness and understanding.
