About the play: Just as Juliana Smithton’s research leads to a potential breakthrough, her life takes a disorienting turn. During a lecture to colleagues at an exclusive beach resort, she glimpses an enigmatic young woman in a yellow bikini amidst the crowd of business suits. The Greater San Diego Music Coterie, directed by Dr. Angela Yeung, presents the “Prelude to Easter,” a program featuring the Greater San Diego Chamber Orchestra and Chorus, with soloists Irene Marie Patton and Mary Boles Allen. The program includes the Alleluia Symphony by Joseph Haydn, Great Russian Easter Festival Overture by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, and selections from Part II of Handel’s Messiah, Beethoven’s Christ on the Mount of Olives, and Mendelssohn’s Hymn of Praise. The audience is invited to join in for a sing-along of some of the favorite hymns for Easter. All performing musicians are fully vaccinated including the booster, and All Saints Episcopal Church offers both indoor and patio seating. A mask is encouraged.
