The California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University, is hosting its Psychopharmacology Speaker Series discussing important topics within the field of Psychopharmacology. During this seminar, Dr. Stephany Hillman, CSPP-Alliant MSCP Adjunct Faculty and Medical Psychologist will be presenting on the role of pediatric patients in Psychopharmacology. This series, which will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 5 p.m., will explore how Administering psychotropic medications to children and adolescents can be highly effective, but both the of choice medication and the dosing can be significantly different than that of adults. Young people are also subject to different health conditions, and the comorbidity of substance use disorder and mental health conditions further complicate treatment. Celebrate Mexican independence and embrace Mexican heritage on Saturday, September 17 in Downtown Chula Vista. Following Amps & Ales, stop by the Memorial Bowl stage for traditional Mexican music and dance performances from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guests will enjoy a live musical performance from Banda de Guerra, a one-of-a-kind Escolta flag presentation, tasty bites from local street vendors, and fun crafts and family-friendly activities. Prepare for the pet pawty of the season as TrustedHousesitters and The Animal Pad partner together to host Howl-O-Ween on Saturday, October 22! From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Amici Amphitheater in Little Italy, attendees and their furry friends are encouraged to dress up in their cutest (but comfy) Halloween costumes while perusing through pet-friendly photo booths, artwork, and pet goodies. The free pet adoption event will also feature caricature drawings of pets by Marco, pet friendly photo opps, raffles and prizes! At this spooky pawty, guests will have the chance to snap cute photos with their in cute Halloween themed photo areas, take home original pet caricature drawings, and meet other pet owners or soon to be pet parents. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter raffles periodically throughout the day for only $1. All proceeds from the raffles will go towards The Animal Pad, a volunteer based 501 C3 non-profit all breed dog rescue that saves dogs from high kill shelters in Southern California and the streets of Mexico. Late October is the time to get out your costumes and get ready for some SPOOKY fun! Join us in the evening during the last two weekends in October for our Bearcat BOO! FLASHLIGHT tour and get to know some of our nocturnal animals. Whose big eyes are those? Who’s making that sound? Is that the Banshee of Borneo? Are those the Ghosts of the Amazon? Wild Wonders’ annual Halloween tours are a “treat” for the entire family. We’ll have candy stations (individually wrapped pieces of course), apple cider, and flashlights to make these evenings a real delight. Our Bearcat BOO! tours are offered on October 22, 23, 30, and 31. Two tours will be offered each evening: one at 5:30 and one at 6. The cost is $39 for adults (ages 12+), $20 for children (5-11).
