  • Promises2Kids, a local nonprofit celebrating its 40th anniversary of creating a brighter future for foster children®, is collecting new unwrapped toys and gift cards to distribute to San Diego’s foster children this holiday season. The Give From Your Heart Toy Drive is presented by Carmel Mountain Preschool, and asks the community to join together to support foster children this holiday season. Gifts can be purchased online at Amazon and shipped to Promises2Kids (9400 Ruffin Court, Suite A, San Diego, CA 92123), or toys can be dropped off at Promises2Kids now through Dec. 17. The community can also drop off toys at Carmel Mountain Preschool’s Holiday Giving Parade on Dec. 11th between 9 and 11 a.m. The drive-by Holiday Giving Parade will take place at 9510 Carmel Mountain Road, San Diego, CA 92129. Participants are invited to drop off a gift for a child in need for the annual toy drive, and will enjoy drive-by photos with The Grinch, music, lights and a family picture with a winter wonderland backdrop.
