June is Pride Month and San Diego Women's Foundation is proud to partner with The San Diego LGBT Community Center (The Center) to host this training as part of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion events series. The training will cover a range of topics related to gender identity; including, social, political and historical constructs of gender, nonbinary terminology and concepts, and inclusive engagement practices. Attendees will gain a greater level of understanding about transgender communities, nonbinary gender identities, comfort in speaking positively and informatively about these identities, and increased proficiency with using gender-inclusive language and pronouns. Our popular CNPS Fall Plant Sale is a great way to see native plants up close, talk to our native plant experts and purchase a wide variety of native plants for your landscape! The sale will be in Balboa Park’s Casa del Prado Courtyard adjacent to the Casa del Prado theater, located at 1700 Village Place. for more information, please visit the Cnps SD website: Come browse through the many native California species and cultivars. This will include native shade trees, native water wise shrubs, native seasonal flowers, native bunch grasses, bee friendly native ground covers, and native succulents. To make things more convenient, curbside loading and secure holding areas will be available. “Dancing with Diamonds” is the theme of the North Coast Symphony Orchestra’s upcoming concert on Saturday, July 9, 2022, 2:30 p.m. at the Encinitas Community Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive, Encinitas. The orchestra will perform a variety of famous dances, including Strauss' Blue Danube Waltz, Balmages' Summer Dances, Dvorak's Slavonic Dance No. 3, Rogers' The Carousel Waltz, Selections from My Fair Lady and more.
