  • WE ARE IN AI™ is bringing together businesses, city leaders, academia, creative professionals, and community members for a half-day forum defining what Responsible and Human-Centered AI looks like in practice for the region. The Forum is a half-day event where business, ecosystem, and community voices come together to shape the future of Responsible and Human-Centered AI for San Diego and beyond. During the event there will be three tracks: business, ecosystem, and community run simultaneously and converge in a closing plenary to produce something unprecedented: the first San Diego Responsible AI Pulse 2026. The goal of this forum is to foster a shared regional vision for AI through community collaboration. As an educational space, the insights generated here are intended for guidance as we co-create a more responsible and human-centered future. Who Should Attend - Business and organizations deploying AI - Entrepreneurs and innovators building AI - Professionals navigating AI in their field - Artists, designers, and creative professionals - Academic institutions and nonprofits - City and government leaders dedicated to aligning AI innovation with community values. Tracks Participants move into their chosen track for a structured co-creation working session: Business Track: For organizations actively deploying AI that want to build trust, drive adoption, and create lasting value. You'll assess your readiness and uncover the long-term value responsible AI brings to your organization. Ecosystem Track: For the institutions and leaders contributing to how AI serves our region. This is where shared insights are co-created to guide future institutional strategy. Community Track: For professionals, creatives, and community members shaping what AI means for people. We'll explore what responsible AI looks like in creative work, community organizations, and everyday professional practice. Kamau Bell is a stand-up comedian, filmmaker, husband, and dad. For seven seasons, he was the host and executive producer of the five-time Emmy Award-winning CNN Original Series "United Shades of America." In 2023 Kamau won an Emmy for his HBO documentary "1000% Me: Growing Up Mixed." He also won a Peabody Award for his 2022 Showtime docu-series "We Need to Talk About Cosby." He is the co-author of the New York Times bestselling book "Do the Work: An Antiracist Activity Book" and the author of "The Awkward Thoughts of W. Kamau Bell: Tales of a 6' 4", African American, Heterosexual, Cisgender, Left-Leaning, Asthmatic, Black and Proud Blerd, Mama’s Boy, Dad, and Stand-Up Comedian." In March of 2025, Kamau will have a chapter in bestselling author Michael Lewis’ new book "Who is Government?" It is based on Kamau’s Washington Post article and short documentary, "The Rookie." Kamau’s last comedy special, "Private School Negro," is available on Netflix. Kamau is on the board of directors for DonorsChoose, a nonprofit that helps teachers raise money for class projects, and Live Free, a nonprofit dedicated to ending gun violence, mass incarceration, and mass criminalization.   • Leslie Jones is a three-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee as well as a Writer’s Guild Award and NAACP Award nominee for her work on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE. She has also been honored as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People. Jones recently wrapped production on season two of the HBO Max series OUR FLAG MEANS DEATH. The week of January 17, 2023, Jones kicked off a new era of THE DAILY SHOW as the program's first guest host. In 2021, she starred opposite Eddie Murphy in COMING 2 AMERICA for which she won an MTV Movie Award and was nominated for a People’s Choice Award. Jones will next produce an untitled Christmas comedy for Lionsgate which she is currently developing as a potential future starring role.
