  • Walk with Us to Cure Lupus is the Lupus Research Alliance’s signature national fundraising program devoted to finding a cure for lupus. This event will include inspiring speakers, light grab & go refreshments during the walk, a t-shirt contest, and a variety of activity booths. Lupus is a chronic and complex autoimmune disease that affects millions of people worldwide. More than 90 percent of people with lupus are women, and lupus disproportionately affects women of color. In lupus, the immune system, which is designed to protect against infection, creates antibodies that can attack any part of the body including the kidneys, brain, heart, lungs, blood, skin, and joints.
