About the performance: The transcendent cellist Yo-Yo Ma performs Elgar’s achingly beautiful concerto, one of the most well-known and revered of cello concertos, in this one-night-only performance. Written near the end of WWI, Elgar’s valedictory work is a searing response at once both tender and pained. Rafael Payare leads the Orchestra in Tchaikovsky’s passionate 5th Symphony, an emotion-filled journey rife with brilliant melody.   • Kooth Digital Health is hosting a free community bike ride with the San Diego Bike Coalition and adventure cyclist Ed Hack. at 10 a.m. Open to riders of all ages, the event will celebrate community and inclusivity and help raise awareness for youth mental health. Ed Hack, a renowned cyclist and mental health advocate, will host and lead the community event with the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition. He recently completed biking the entire state of California - over 1,000 miles - to help spread awareness about California’s new mental health app, Soluna.
  • Characters and characterization make or break a novel, and as a writer, you must know not only how to construct a person from the ground up, but also how to skillfully relate that character to your readers through action and thought.   • In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of feng shui, as well as ways to incorporate these tips into daily life. Specifically, students will learn more about how to create an environment that best supports them in day-to-day life and in their artistic endeavors. By the end of the workshop, participants will have suggestions for inviting in new opportunities via increasing productivity and finding creative flow, as well as gaining recognition through aligning with the “right” people to assist on the creative journey.
