  • Learn to needle felt! Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Experience the magic of wool and learn how to paint using needle felting techniques! In this 3-hour workshop, we will create a marine landscape by layering and felting wool, as well as blending colors together. The addition of yarns will add texture and hues to your creation. Ocean and sunset make wonderful subjects for needle paintings! This class requires the use of sharp needles and you will be provided with fingers guards. No experience necessary. Ages 12+ welcome.   • Presented by the San Diego River Park Foundation Join local insect lovers and photographers, representatives from Bee City USA, and the UCSD Pollinator Club in the Point Loma Native Plant Garden for a Pollinator Safari. Local pollinator enthusiasts will lead short walks around the garden looking for bees, wasps, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other insects visiting the flowers and flying around the garden. We’ll talk about taking photos and collecting data on inaturalist.org. And we’ll have tables with displays of native pollinators, sharing photos and more so you can get a closer look at some of the beautiful and unique pollinators found in the San Diego River Watershed.   • We’re putting our fresh hay bale targets to use for back-to-back open range Saturdays here at the San Diego Archaeological Center! Join us to shoot and learn about how different cultures around the world crafted, hunted, and fought with bows and arrows. This event is family friendly. Kids will enjoy a supervised range at the front of the museum all to themselves, with an adults-only range for more powerful bows in the back. No previous experience required.
