  • This course will take participants through the entire process of professional TV screenwriting with the ultimate goal of writing a fully realized pilot episode for an original series idea. Starting with the basics of story structure for 11-minute, 22-minute, or hour-long episodes, participants will learn how to write an effective two-sentence logline, how to turn that logline into a 1-2 page premise, how to turn that premise into a longer outline for a script, and finally how to turn all of that work into a finished script. Participants will be encouraged to share their progress with everyone taking the course, and will receive notes, thoughts, and reactions from their instructor and their peers which they can use to fine-tune their work throughout the script writing process.
