  • September 28, 1-4 p.m. Come and explore the gorgeous natural blue of indigo in this hands-on natural dye workshop. You will learn a range of shibori dye resist processes in this creative workshop, including tegumo (spiderweb), ori nui (stitched), and itajime (clamped) shibori methods. You will also have the unique opportunity to work on a large and light organic cotton shawl (can be used as a bed cover). This textile will be approximately 40″ x 65″ and you’ll embellish it through shibori methods, followed by dyeing it in a natural indigo vat. You will gain a better understanding of the process and symbiotic relationship between indigo dye and this traditional textile surface design. This is a unique opportunity to learn the basic techniques to continue your journey into creating beautiful, unique textiles. Join us for an open, educational conversation about Medical Aid in Dying with Donald Moore MD of Autonomy Health. We'll unpack what MAiD is, how it works, and how access is navigated. This workshop offers transparent, accurate information in a calm, respectful space, whether you’re planning ahead for yourself, supporting a loved one, or simply wanting to understand this important end-of-life option. Together, we’ll discuss eligibility for terminally ill patients, how MAiD works, the role of medical providers, and how the medication is obtained. He is widely known as one of the world’s leading innovators of the dulcimer and has released over sixty albums. Kevin has had made many radio and television appearances, sang the opening and closing theme song for the PBS children’s show "Shining Time Station" (Thomas the Tank Engine), and performed twice at The White House. Throughout his career, Kevin’s concert appearances for both adult and family audiences have taken him from festivals to intimate concerts to major concert halls. Leatea (San Diego native Dylann Jelden) has been a musician all her life, beginning with classical violin at age four. She began writing songs and playing guitar in high school. Her style is a mix of laid-back acoustic folk and pop, drawn from inspirations like Neil Young, Norah Jones, and Mitski. She performs regularly in San Diego. Leatea will open for Kevin Roth.   • Have you always wanted to tap dance? In our tap class, taught by Lindy Lyon, we will work on the fundamentals of tap dance in the feet and in the body. Each week, students will build on the skills learned the previous week as we broaden our step vocabulary. Students will also learn about major figures and influences in tap dance history. Students will hone their tap skills with an emphasis on musicality, technique, and playfulness as they learn a dance. This class is a great opportunity for beginners and returning tap dancers alike.
