Join us for a festive evening at Local Roots Kombucha! Get ready to unleash your creativity at our upcoming Christmas Paint and Sip event! This year, we’re painting “My Gnomies,” perfect for adding a touch of whimsy to your holiday decor. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just looking to have fun with friends, this event is for everyone! Local Art Instructors will guide you every step of the way to complete your Gnomie trio. Enjoy a selection of our delicious kombucha while you paint, sip, and celebrate the holiday spirit. All supplies will be provided, so just bring your enthusiasm! This event is located outside. You will be surrounded by space heaters, but make sure to bring a sweater! Local Roots Kombucha & Pizza brings a unique vibe to North County with their better and bold-flavored hard kombucha. Local Roots offers a selection of locally crafted brews on tap and wine by the glass. Don’t forget to check out their food menu as well!! They are a family-friendly tap house with plenty of room for pets as well!! We will hold events inside during the summer and inside during the winter. Plenty of parking is available as well! Exploring versatile running stitches December 15, from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Just in time for the holidays, come and create a beautiful purse that can be used as a gift or as a soft pouch for jewelry. We will be using hand-dyed bamboo and wool felt as our canvas. The technique of decorating a fabric surface with running stitches can be found in many cultures and in the scope of this class we’ll focus on two types of stitching: Sashiko, which means “little stabs” in Japanese, and Kantha, which translates to “rags” in Sanskrit. The primary and traditional function of the stitching was: to mend and reuse old but treasured fabric, to gather layers of fabric which then provided warmth and insulation, and/or strengthen the fabric for heavy usage. However, the decorative aspect of this timeless practice became just as important and valued, and its rich “vocabulary” translates into endless pattern variations. This class is appropriate for ages 10+years and older.
