This Valentine’s Day, experience romance redefined at Rumorosa, the Cali-Baja inspired restaurant located on Harbor Island. On February 14, from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., diners can indulge in a three-course menu, crafted by local Chef Cesar Oceguera and served against the backdrop of the adjacent marina. The culinary journey begins with an imaginative amuse bouche of an Edible Sangria featuring orange granita, red wine foam, apple gel, and diced fruit, alongside Edible Candle bread service with a beeswax wick, caramelized shallot butter, and warm asiago garlic roll. Look for local birds that live in the lagoon all year and for birds that visit from faraway places. All ages can enjoy bird-themed activities, live animal presentations, face painting, nature crafts, and more. This event follows a zero-waste approach to maximize recycling, minimize waste, and reduce consumption, ensuring that items provided at the event are either reusable or recyclable. In Support of the LAFD Foundation Join Orli La Jolla on January 18 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. for a meaningful Pilates session led by instructor Vanessa Mayer. All proceeds from this class will be matched by Orli and donated directly to the LAFD Foundation, which provides crucial assistance in response to the recent wildfires that have impacted the Los Angeles community. The San Diego Early Music Society is thrilled to welcome harpsichordist Aya Hamada. In her San Diego debut, she will perform the program Bach et la France, showcasing how the stylistic influence of French composers such as d’Anglebert, François Couperin, and Louis Marchand impacted the music of J.S. Bach. Praised for her “graceful” (The New York Times) performance, harpsichordist Aya Hamada is an active recitalist, concerto soloist and continuo player. She has given recitals in major venues throughout Japan as well as in the US, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Switzerland, including recitals for the , including recitals for the Peñíscola International Festival of Medieval and Baroque Music (Spain), Music Before 1800 (New York), Da Camera Society (Los Angeles), Harpsichord Heaven at Flint Collection (Wilmington) and at the Quebec Government Office (Canada). She has made over four dozen appearances as concerto soloist on four continents, and has performed under conductors William Christie, Jordi Savall, Harry Bicket, Nicholas McGegan and Masaaki Suzuki. The New York Times proclaimed “Ms. Hamada gave a deft account of Handel’s Concerto” about her performance with Christie at Lincoln Center. For the 2025 season, The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch is thrilled to welcome its very first traveling exhibit and will serve as the colorful backdrop for artist Alex Heveri’s, “Glass in Flight” which features over three dozen glass and steel sculptures of sparkling butterflies, dragonflies, bamboo, bees and insects that compliment the gardens and fields. The dazzling attraction stretches eight to ten weeks each year, from early March through early May, with a full slate of activities including live music performances, workshops and wellness classes.
