Hailey Persinger edits and posts stories, video, and other multimedia elements to KPBS.org. She also helps maintain the KPBSNews Twitter, Facebook and Google+ accounts. Before joining KPBS, she worked as a reporter at U-T San Diego and the Killeen Daily Herald. At both papers, she reported on local government and added to breaking news coverage. Hailey contributed reports to the Killeen Daily Herald's coverage of the November 2009 mass shooting at Fort Hood, which won numerous awards from the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors. Hailey has a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of North Texas in Denton. When not at work, Hailey is either running, attempting to learn computer coding or compulsively checking Twitter.

Leng Caloh formerly served as KPBS technology & innovation manager, where she oversaw strategy for digital fundraising, online marketing, and analytics. Leng helped oversee the KPBS digital team since its inception in 2006, and led the team through its coverage of the October 2007 wildfires. Leng was responsible for tapping into Twitter and Google Maps during the wildfires, which led to extensive coverage of KPBS' online Web 2.0 innovations and an APTRA Mark Twain Award for Breaking News Online. She was selected by SDSU President Dr. Stephen Weber as one of SDSU's Top 25 people for her work during the wildfires. Leng's career includes producing for both broadcast and online. She spent several years as a producer for the station's daily public affairs television program Full Focus, and has also worked on several national and independent documentaries. She served as KPBS' Convergence Editor, managing a multimedia fellowship program, and helping the station integrate its radio, television, and online platforms. Leng has received a CINE Golden Eagle as well as numerous first place awards for her broadcast and web work from the local Society of Professional Journalists and the San Diego Press Club. Leng served on PBS's Digital Media Advisory Council (DMAC) from 2016-2018, and is currently a member of the Public Television Major Markets Group's Research, Data, and Analytics Committee.

Roberta Griego is an experienced radio producer and announcer. She currently works in radio operations, facilitating the broadcast of national and local programs, station announcements, and promotions. Roberta began her radio career on the University of New Mexico campus as the news producer at KUNM-FM. Roberta transitioned into production where she voiced and produced underwriting announcements and general promotions. She has taught Broadcast Journalism at WRTE-FM in Chicago, worked in satellite networking operations, and produced three nationally syndicated radio shows in Los Angeles.

Jantzen Zink produces television and radio pledge drives for the on-air fundraising department at KPBS. Before joining KPBS in 2011, Jantzen was the promotions assistant at KUSI in San Diego. She started her career in broadcasting in 2008 as a weather forecaster and reporter at WSIL and WSIU in Illinois. Jantzen graduated with a degree in radio and television from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Pat Finn previously served as a producer for KPBS Midday Edition and KPBS Evening Edition. Finn began her career in broadcasting at KTLA and KCET in Los Angeles. In 1979 she became KPBS’ Public Information Director, then Director of Advertising and Promotion, Program Director, and Director of Broadcasting. She oversaw the station’s local and national productions, including the one-hour documentary Los Romeros: The Royal Family of the Guitar, and Child Protective Services, a one-hour look inside the San Diego County agency responsible for the welfare of at risk children. Both programs also aired on public television stations nationwide. Finn has earned honors from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Pacific Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Before joining KPBS in 2016, Kristina lived in Los Angeles where she was a news clerk with Southern California Public Radio’s digital team. In that job, she reported and wrote stories for the web, copy edited news stories and did social media to promote the newsroom’s work. Kristina was previously an assistant editor at Participant Media, where she covered wildlife, the environment, food and social justice. Her work has also appeared in L.A. Weekly, the Village Voice, the Christian Science Monitor, Mashable and other outlets. She studied English literature at California State University, Los Angeles, where she earned her bachelor’s degree.

Kathryn Nelson is a native Californian (born in Weaverville, in Trinity County in the far northern part of the state). She began her career in broadcasting in 1985 at KICO, a station outside of Calexico, CA where her family owned the local newspaper (Calexico Chronicle). Kathryn’s career in broadcasting spans more than 25 years, both in commercial and public radio, and as a television announcer for PBS stations across the state. She has also enjoyed voice-acting for public radio productions such as A Christmas Carol.Kathryn’s radio experience includes years serving as a program director for music radio formats and as a promotions director and news anchor for commercial news/talk radio. Kathryn lives in San Diego County with her two sons.

Kelly Urig is a production assistant in the KPBS newsroom and a call screener for KPBS Midday Edition. Kelly has successfully completed five independent films as writer, director, and producer. Her films have been selected into film festivals including the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival, The Castle Rock Film Festival, SoCal Film Festival, Ocean Beach International Film Festival and several San Diego State University Film Showcases. In addition to her own projects, Kelly has meaningfully contributed to the works of others. In 2011, Kelly produced several shorts that have been selected for top film festivals around the nation. She has also created promotional film material to publicize for various organizations. In the future, Kelly intends to leverage her talents as a producer to help better deliver the creative visions of others into commercially viable projects.

When an intern in the KPBS Newsroom, Sasha wrote radio spots and adapted them into web articles. She recently relocated to San Diego from the Bay Area. She studied media theory at UC Berkeley and received her master’s in broadcasting from San Francisco State University. While at SF State, she taught studio production to undergraduate students in the broadcasting program. Sasha is passionate about producing high quality media that educates and inspires, with a particular interest in issues of sustainability. Sasha has worked in radio and television as well as the government and non-profit sectors. She recently finished production on “Waterways,” a documentary film that follows the path of water from the mountains to the faucet. She spent the summer of 2010 in El Salvador shooting and editing a promotional video for a non-profit. When not working, Sasha enjoys hiking, dancing, cooking and gardening.
