  • Bold bites, warm hearts, full plates. For one night only, three of the nation’s most celebrated Filipino chefs reunite in San Diego for a dinner grounded in kapwa – the Filipino concept of shared identity and connection – where culture, community, and cuisine converge. Hosted at Animae, where two-time James Beard Finalist Tara Monsod leads as Executive Chef and Culinary Director, this four-course, family-style dinner experience invites you to taste the soul of Filipino cuisine – elevated, intentional, and full of heart. Monsod is joined by Chef Lordfer Lalicon of Kaya in Orlando, a James Beard Finalist and recipient of a Green Michelin Star, and Melissa Miranda, the James Beard Finalist chef behind Seattle’s beloved Musang. These three chefs bring their distinct styles, regional influences, and shared passion to the table right here in San Diego, for one night only. Come curious. Come hungry. Come ready to feel the kapwa in every dish, every story, and every moment shared. San Diego Food + Wine Festival on Facebook / Instagram

  • Robert Spano, conductor Conrad Tao, piano San Diego Symphony Orchestra ADAM SCHOENBERG: Cool Cat JOHN ADAMS: Century Rolls RACHMANINOFF: Symphony No. 3 in A minor, Op. 44 An exuberant celebration of music by three composers, all of whom came from elsewhere to live in California. The youngest, Massachusetts-born Adam Schoenberg, is famous for his ability to meld popular idioms into energetic pieces for classical audiences and Cool Cat is no exception. This delightful fanfare of an overture celebrates the life of P-22, the world-famous mountain lion who lived for a decade in the hills above Los Angeles. John Adams, one of the most renowned American composers, wrote his piano concerto Century Rolls in the 1990s as a celebration of the great age of American player-piano recordings a century ago by artists such as Jelly Roll Morton and Gershwin. Russian-born Rachmaninoff himself spent much of the last quarter century of his life in the US, becoming a citizen and owning homes in New York and Los Angeles. Rachmaninoff was a huge admirer of American popular music and in the last movement of his Third Symphony we can hear his delight in Hollywood film-music and especially the movies of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. • Join Us for a Community Clean-Up in Del Mar! The Del Mar Village Association (DMVA) invites you to take part in our “Keep Del Mar Green” community clean-up event! Together, we’ll protect our beautiful coastline, support sustainability, and make a lasting impact on our environment. We'll meet at the 17th Street Del Mar Lifeguard Station before spreading out across the beach, parks, and nearby streets to collect litter that would otherwise pollute our precious waterways. To make your efforts even more rewarding, the Del Mar Lifeguards will work with us to treat our volunteers to a delicious breakfast of eggs and pancakes. During the cleanup, we’ll use baskets from the Del Mar ShoreSaver Program—a pioneering environmental initiative led by DMVA in partnership with the City of Del Mar, EDCO, and Relic Coastal Collaborative—designed to keep our beaches pristine while promoting ecological health. We can’t wait to see you there—let’s keep Del Mar green! The Del Mar Village Association on Facebook / Instagram
