This tour focuses on the clever adaptations and beauty of many fascinating cacti and succulents in the recently revitalized Kate O. Sessions Cactus Garden. Forever Balboa Park offers thematic park tours that focus on the park’s unique biodiversity and highlight the park’s horticultural wonders on the second Saturday of each month. Led by park volunteer and horticultural enthusiast Bill Edwards, the free tours leave from the Visitors Center at 10:00 a.m. unless otherwise indicated. Walks last 1.5 to 2 hours and are typically less than 1 mile on level terrain. It is advised that potential attendees contact the Balboa Park Visitors Center prior to the scheduled walk to determine if there are any last-minute changes or cancellations to the tours. Returning off last year’s exciting sellout salute to Tom Petty at the OTC, the Rolling Heartbreakers will be performing two classic iconic albums from both the Rolling Stones and Tom Petty in their entirety. The show will feature the Stones' Let It Bleed (1969) and Tom Petty's Full Moon Fever (1989), along with other selections from each band. As with last year’s show, this performance will be accompanied by a full background visual presentation to enhance the experience.
