Come join us on March 30 for our own version of “Saturday morning cartoons!” At Toons & Tunes, children and their families can enjoy a screening of classic cartoons at the beautiful Balboa Theatre. The classic cartoons will be accompanied by a pipe organ, but this is not the austere, formal sound you may think of. The Wonder Morton theatre organ has dozens of “voices,” which can imitate chimes, violins, a choir, and more! Theatre organist Ken Double will bring this whimsical instrument to life for our youngest audience members. Update, Feb. 8: La Jolla Music Society announced today that the internationally acclaimed Miró Quartet will replace the Arod Quartet in concert on February 17, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. at The Conrad, as the Arod Quartet’s concert tour has been canceled due to visa issues. Ticket holders for the Arod Quartet may choose to attend the Miró Quartet, exchange their tickets for a future event at The Conrad, donate their tickets, or request a refund.
