The 13th annual Ramona Art, Wine & Music Festival is returning to Begent Ranch in Ramona, Calif., on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025. One of San Diego County’s most popular festivals, we will have over 50 booths featuring artists, artisans, wineries, and craft beverage makers, with live music all day long! The primary fundraiser at the festival is our famous live auction, featuring wine barrels and furniture embellished by local artists. Once again, one of San Diego’s most popular emcees, the entertaining Josh Lawson, will be our auctioneer. The silent auction will feature 50+ baskets, with something for everyone! By popular demand, we are adding more variety with food trucks. Complimentary catered small bites will therefore no longer be offered, and the good news is that ticket prices have been reduced by $15. Designated Driver tickets are also available. Proceeds from this event benefit the Ramona H.E.A.R.T. Mural Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been beautifying Ramona one mural at a time: currently 31 large-scale murals and counting, plus 17 mini-murals (painted utility boxes). The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival (LJAWF) returns to the heart of La Jolla on Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025. This free, family-friendly weekend features over 170 juried artists from across the U.S. and Mexico, showcasing stunning works in painting, sculpture, jewelry, glass, ceramics, woodwork, photography, and more. This year’s featured artist is Gregg “Viz” Visintainer, known for his bold, detailed pen-and-ink illustrations. Art lovers, wine enthusiasts, and craft beverage fans alike will find plenty to enjoy, with a ticketed wine and beer garden featuring over 35 top-tier wineries, local breweries, and craft distilleries. The festivities also include the Geppetto’s Toys Family Art Center, a two-day silent auction, pet adoption stations, and live music and entertainment for all ages. Politifest 2025 is scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the University of San Diego’s Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies. This annual public affairs summit, organized by Voice of San Diego, focuses on pressing local and national issues through debates, panels, and interviews with experts. The best writing comes from writing what you know, and based on Joel Rafael’s life experiences and over fifty years of making music, he has a deep well from which to draw. He has chronicled his life and the world around him with passionate songwriting rooted in the folk tradition. Joel began performing in showcases and small clubs around Southern California in the early 1970s. In 1981, he toured with Jesse Colin Young, and released his debut album, "Dharma Bums." Joel won Kerrville’s new folk award in 1995 and gained national airplay with the seminal Joel Rafael Band. He composed and performed all original music for the LA Theatre Works production of "The Grapes of Wrath" in 2002 and toured the southwest with Joan Baez in 2003. No influence is more obvious in his work than that of Woody Guthrie, with whom he shares five co-writes, and Joel has been a featured performer at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival for all twenty-seven years. Rupert Wates is a London-born, award-winning songwriter who signed an exclusive publishing deal with Eaton Music in the late 1990s and has been writing full-time ever since. Since relocating to the United States in 2006, he has released eleven acclaimed full-length albums, earning airplay across the United States, Canada, Europe, Israel, and Australia. His work has inspired over fifty songwriting awards and more than twenty cover recordings by other artists, including two full tribute albums recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles. Performing an average of 120 shows a year across North America and Europe, Rupert continues to captivate audiences with his haunting, melodic brand of acoustic art-folk.
