In this 3-hour workshop, we will learn the letterforms and strokes of American Cursive handwriting while experimenting with a unique writing tool. Whether you're a beginner or have some cursive experience, this workshop offers a fun and creative way to enhance your handwriting skills. Glass pens provide a distinctive and enjoyable writing experience, and you'll leave with a set of new skills and techniques to continue your cursive journey. In this 3-hour session, we will cover Basic American Cursive: Start with the foundational techniques of American Cursive handwriting, focusing on smooth, flowing letterforms. Resonance is a free, all-ages event hosted by St. Brigid’s Episcopal Church and Oceanside Theatre Company, that builds community through creative expression. Held in OTC's Studio 219 (219 North Coast Highway), this is a space for all creatively-inclined people — artists, musicians, writers, and more — to showcase their work and to practice spontaneous creation together. In 2017, he founded Groundmaking, a video production company that empowers nonprofits to reach their fundraising and marketing goals through compelling storytelling. His clients include Heluna Health, the California Community Foundation, Koreatown Youth and Community Center, Carlsbad Educational Foundation, Descanso Gardens, and The Trust for Public Land. Reuben frequently speaks at conferences like the Nonprofit Storytelling Conference, sharing insights to inspire emerging storytellers. Previously, he was Chief Creative Officer at Aclima, where he led creative initiatives in environmental technology for clients like Google and the US General Services Administration. Holding a Master’s in Architecture from Yale and a Bachelor’s in International Economics from UC San Diego, Reuben brings a unique, multidisciplinary approach to his work.
