The Senate approved a sweeping bank regulation bill, sending President Obama a crackdown on banks and Wall Street that in some ways is tougher than what he sought. The 2,300-page bill, which passed by a vote of 60-39, aims to rein in big banks and avert a repeat of the 2008 financial crisis.
