Ned Rorem would have been 100 this fall, and his fourth quartet is based on impressions from a collection of Picasso’s paintings (“sort of,” in the composer’s words). How do other art forms influence and inform each other? How can our dialogue with masterpieces of the past be shared in our performances today? Back in the kitchen, Christopher Kimball and Bianca Borges recreate these meat-and-potato-filled delicacies, complete with a deeply golden and extra-crisp crust. Next, Josh Mamaclay prepares deliciously rich Braised Chicken with Coconut and Plantain. To finish, Lynn Clark makes our adaptation of Colombian Potato Soup with Chicken, Corn and Capers.
