Join in on the fun with improv classes taught by Chicago-trained improv teacher, Chris Shurland! Improv classes will begin on July 18 at 7 p.m. and will meet every other week at Studio 219 of the Brooks Theater. Classes are free to everyone! (Please note: Class will not be held on July 4.) Chris Shurland, the founder of Santa Barbara's Irreverent Improv, is a Chicago-trained improv teacher and performer currently based in Southern California. Before being a part of several house and independent teams in Chicago, Chris completed the training programs at Second City, iO (formerly ImprovOlympic), and Annoyance Theater and was lucky enough to be trained by some of the nation’s best improv teachers. Anthony Jeselnik is a stand-up comedian from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He can currently be seen on his podcast, "The Jeselnik and Rosenthal Vanity Project", alongside co-host Gregg Rosenthal. His most recent stand up special, "Fire in The Maternity Ward", premiered on Netflix to critical acclaim. Anthony was also the creator, host and producer of his series, "Good Talk" and "The Jeselnik Offensive" on Comedy Central. He also appeared on multiple roasts for the network, most notably "The Roast of Donald Trump" and "The Roast of Charlie Sheen". Additionally, Anthony wrote and performed the stand-up specials "Thoughts and Prayers", an hour-long for Netflix and "Caligula", an hour-long for Comedy Central which followed his debut comedy album, "Shakespeare", for Comedy Central Records. He has performed on CONAN, THE TONIGHT SHOW, JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE and was a writer and the first ever stand-up comic to appear on LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON. The San Diego Watercolor Society proudly presents “Under the Moon”, juried by award-winning artist, Angela Chang. The circus is in town at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum! To celebrate our summer Circus Exhibit, the San Diego Model Railroad Museum will host a Circus Family Day! From 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on July 15, make your way around the museum while participating in circus-themed crafts, a Scavenger Hunt, and games! Enjoy face painting and balloon animals by Miss Toby the Clown from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. and mini-lectures throughout the day.
