Join us for a fun journey of laughter, spontaneity and endless possibilities as we explore the fundamentals of improv in a supportive environment in this 8-week class on Sundays July 23 through September 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students will learn the fundamentals of improv through a series of engaging exercises, games, and scene work as each week builds on what was learned the previous week. We will focus on building trust, sharpening listening skills, gaining confidence to think creatively in the moment, the concept of Yes And…, and so much more. Not only will you have a ton of fun, you will build self-confidence, soft business skills, and meet new people!

Improv at the Brooks presents another fun evening of fast-paced improvised comedy with “Penguin Posse”. This highly interactive show features seasoned improvisers from American Improv Theatre and Irreverent Improv who use audience suggestions to create unforgettable characters and outrageous moments. The evening will feature a mix of fast-paced games and innovative long form scenes to give audiences side-splitting laughter from start to finish.

Fan favorite Peanuts is returning to San Diego Comic-Con, and they’re inviting you to celebrate 50 years of the Beagle Scouts with them, as well as the upcoming Apple TV+ series CAMP SNOOPY, with merchandise, a pop-up, panel, and more. In the Gaslamp, Peanuts will be setting up camp at 200 J. Street, Suite 105 for a "Camp Snoopy" and “Beagle Scouts” pop-up. Attendees will find plenty of activities, with bird spotting (how many Woodstocks and his fellow Beagle Scout bird friends can you spot?), learning how to read a Peanuts-themed compass, and a writing-letters home station (“Send cookies!”). The offsite will also feature merch, including an adorable Woodstock Youtooz plush, Pintrill pins of Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts; iron-on merit badges; a Snoopy canteen; a compass; a burritote (for keeping your burrito warm, of course!). And with prices ranging from $10 to $25, you can snag what you want while still saving some pennies for the booth merchandise. The pop-up will be open Thursday, July 20 – Sunday, July 23 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily. On the show floor of the Convention Center, you’ll find Peanuts at Booth #1635, where you’ll be a happy camper to discover Snoopy himself, making in-person appearances throughout the con. Historian Kristi Hawthorne will present Histories and Mysteries: Legends of Sunken Treasure, a 1-hour program exploring the claims of Dr. Joseph J. Markey for two shows: Friday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, July 23 at 2:00 p.m. at OTC's Studio 219, 219 N. Coast Highway, downtown Oceanside. For over 30 years Dr. Joseph J. Markey spoke of Spanish gold buried in the hills of the San Luis Rey Valley for which only he had the map. Later Markey would claim that the Ship Trinidad carrying $10 million of gold sunk off the coast of Oceanside. He "discovered" numerous artifacts, including coins, skeletons and burials sites -- but what became of these discoveries? Is there gold waiting to be found? People want to believe, but what is the truth? Was it a hoax?
