That’s why we’re partnering with Johnny Rivera, local restaurateur known for starting the “Brunch Revolution“ with Hash House a GoGo, Great Maple, and the viral BLTBloodyMary (he's also owner of Wolf in the Woods). Rivera will be hosting a pop-up rooftop brunch on three dates this summer, featuring rotating restaurant concepts: July 12: Hash House a GoGo Your favorite Nat bartenders will be offering thirst-quenching mocktails, mimosas, and bloody marys. Enjoy it all with sweeping views of Balboa Park as the backdrop. Brunch is from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on each date. Seating is open, casual, and first-come, first-served. Food and beverages may be purchased a la carte, similar to Nat at Night. The rooftop is popular, so there may be a wait at times. (Interested in reserved seating?   • Join ethnographer and musician Yale Strom for an online lecture exploring the deep and fascinating connections between Jewish culture and jazz. Drawing on decades of fieldwork, musicological research and artistic practice, Strom will uncover how Jewish musicians shaped one of America’s most iconic art forms. Yale Strom is one of the world's leading ethnographer-artists of klezmer and Romani music. He holds a master's degree in Yiddish Studies and has directed 10 award-winning documentary films, including The Last Klezmer (Oscar short-list). He has written 15 books, recorded 20 CDs, and served as Artist-in-Residence in Jewish Studies at San Diego State University from 2006 to 2020.
