Lecture title:
Micro molecules, big impact: New approaches to neurodevelopmental disorders – Front Row lecture with Giordano Lippi, PhD
Description:
The human brain depends on remarkable precision. As neurons develop, they must produce the right proteins at the right place and time to build the complex networks that drive thought, learning and behavior. In this free Front Row lecture, Scripps Research Associate Professor Giordano Lippi will explore how tiny molecules called microRNAs help control this process. His research has revealed that microRNAs regulate many genes linked to neurodevelopmental disorders, including severe intellectual disability and epilepsy. Discover how Lippi’s team is developing new tools to restore protein production in disease-causing genes, opening new possibilities for understanding and potentially treating genetic disorders of the developing brain.
