An aspiring filmmaker, Suraj understood the way film has the capacity to inspire social change. After his passing, his family is ensuring their son’s legacy will be carried forward with an endowment commitment that established the Suraj Israni Center for Cinematic Arts at UC San Diego, within the School of Arts and Humanities. The Center promotes research, scholarship, teaching, production, and exhibition of film and moving-image arts, providing access and opportunity for UC San Diego students and scholars to pursue their passion in cinematics arts.
