This is not a hip new zombified take on Louisa May Alcott's beloved story — it's actually Moxie's concurrent production of two full, intact plays, performed "in rep." This means the shows will run on the same stage with the same cast. The plays are "Little Women The Broadway Musical" (by Allan Knee, Jason Howland and Mindi Dickstein) and Alexis Scheer's 2021 high school thriller, "Our Dear Dead Drug Lord." It doesn't sound like a natural combination, and that's kind of the point. Cast members Nio Russell, Mikaela Macias, Becca Myers Lena Ceja (all women) are tackling the four main characters in each show. And perhaps the big stars are the stage crew who'll swap out the sets each night. These two widely different shows will be running at the same time, on the same stage, and share the same cast. However the sets, costumes, vibes, and stories are completely different! Each week, performances of the two shows will alternate by day of the week, or time of day. The set will be “flipped” between the two shows by our talented (and fast!) backstage crew. And on Saturdays and Sundays, the actors will only have a couple of hours after the afternoon show, to rest and get ready for a completely different evening show. The State Department has halted the scheduling of new visa interviews for foreign students while it prepares to expand the screening of their activity on social media, officials said.

All are invited to the Gathering of Nations, an annual event that celebrates indigenous culture and features crafts, food, storytelling, and educational resources. The gathering is held on traditional Kumeyaay lands in the Sweetwater Valley at the Bonita Museum & Cultural Center and the Bonita Sunnyside SD County Library. The gathering highlights craftspeople, storytellers, food and educational resources. The events are free and open to the public. The event will be opened by Kumeyaay Bird Singers. The cultural bird songs, of which there are 300 in the takut cycle, are a metaphor for life. On stage find presentations and regalia from “Eagle Spirit Dancers” dancers, presentation of powwow culture. Hands-on activities for visitors, free books, vendors and food will be at the event. In the museum find educational resources from Kumeyaay College and a new exhibition curated by Kumeyaay artist Johnny Bear Contreras. The La Mesa Village Association's (LMVA) 9th annual Holiday in the Village event is getting a refresh this year focusing on enhanced holiday traditions that are fully immersed in La Mesa’s charm. This year, the organization will offer new and exciting activities during the one-day event while keeping the annual favorites the community has come to cherish. One of the biggest changes this year is that all the activities offered will be FREE to guests. The LMVA is adding fun new experiences, including skating on a synthetic “ice” rink, an “All White Wonderland” kids area filled with inflatable bouncies, Mrs. Claus Reading Nook where families can enjoy listening to holiday themed stories, an adorable Gingerbread House photo booth, Miniature Golf and a fun-themed Elf Adventure Trail where guests can seek out elves sprinkled throughout local businesses and can enter to win one of the elves! Treasured favorites returning to the Holiday in the Village event include the cherished “Selfies with Santa”, strolling carolers, holiday performances by local schools, clubs and more, fun-themed holiday stilt walkers – perfect for selfies, and an “Elf Yourself” station where guests can outfit themselves in whimsical elf ears.
