  • Join us as Dimitri shares metaphysical insights from the Divine on the controversial topic of the use of psychoactive substances as part of one’s spiritual journey. Many experiment with drugs thinking it is a way to stimulate spiritual experiences. Yet metaphysics teaches that there are no shortcuts to awakening the inner mystical life. We must earn each step in our spiritual enlightenment. There have always been the pitfalls of counterfeit spiritual experiences when one mistakenly thinks they have awakened the door to the spiritual life—sometimes through mind-altering drugs—when in fact what they have done is weaken the very inner faculties needed to reach the spiritual summit. “Seekers of divine ecstasy are abjured to abstain strictly from inebriating substances and sensual stimulants, which keep the life force and consciousness bound in body consciousness and easily become habit forming.” – Paramahansa Yogananda With the blossoming of the spiritual renaissance, it’s more essential than ever to pursue your spiritual journey with a clear, sober head and employ the tools of spiritual maturity at your disposal—intuition, inspiration, meditation and the application of spiritual truth. Meditations with Divine Light, world prayers and music will be part of the fellowship. There has never been a better time to pursue your soul’s growth. We welcome you in the great spiritual adventure! DIMITRI MORAITIS is cofounder and spiritual director of the renowned Spiritual Arts Institute. An accomplished metaphysical teacher, Dimitri lectures across the country, appears on numerous podcasts and radio shows and leads workshops and training classes offered at the Institute. BARBARA Y. MARTIN is one of the foremost clairvoyants and spiritual teachers in the world. Born with the gift of seeing the aura in all its subtleties, she is a pioneer in the field of metaphysics having taught thousands how to better their lives by working with the aura and spiritual energy. Martin and Moraitis are the award-winning authors of the international bestseller Change Your Aura, Change Your Life, Heaven and Your Spiritual Evolution, Communing with the Divine, Karma and Reincarnation, and the highly acclaimed The Healing Power of Your Aura. • In this lecture, Kara Cooney will discuss her latest book, Recycling for Death, a meticulous study of the social, economic, and religious significance of coffin reuse during the Ramesside and early 3rd Intermediate periods. Funerary datasets are the chief source of social history in Egyptology, and the numerous tombs, coffins, Books of the Dead, and mummies of the 20th and 21st Dynasties have not been fully utilized as social documents, mostly because the data of this period is scattered and difficult to synthesize. This lecture is the culmination of 15 years of coffin study, analyzing coffins and other funerary equipment of elites from the 19th to the 22nd Dynasties to provide essential windows into social strategies and adaptations employed during the Bronze Age collapse and subsequent Iron Age reconsolidation. About the Presenter: Kara Cooney is a professor of Egyptology at UCLA and Chair of the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures. Specializing in social history, gender studies, and economies in the ancient world, she received her Ph.D. in Egyptology from Johns Hopkins University.
