  • Alliance Française San Diego Unveils Exciting New Space, new educational program and Invites Public to Open House and book fair on April 28 The Alliance Française San Diego is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its new location and invites the community to join them for an Open House event on April 28, 2024. This special occasion will also feature an exciting Book Fair, offering attendees the opportunity to explore a wide selection of French literature curated by Clotilde French Bookstore. After months of anticipation, Alliance Française San Diego is proud to showcase its new space, designed to enhance the experience of French language and culture enthusiasts in the San Diego area. The new location, conveniently located in University City, promises to be a vibrant hub for learning, cultural exchange, and community engagement. The Open House event on April 28 will provide an opportunity for the public to explore the new facilities, meet the team, and learn more about the diverse range of programs and activities offered by Alliance Française San Diego. From language classes for all proficiency levels to social and cultural events, there is something for everyone interested in French language and culture. "We are excited to welcome the community to our new space and share our passion for French language and francophone cultures," said Julie Ripoll, Executive DIrector of the Alliance Française San Diego. "This new space enables us to support our growing activity and welcome more students. We have a rich educational program starting with Summer Camps and a yearly program designed for families who want their children to learn and practice French. Our Open House event will be a celebration of our commitment to promoting linguistic and cultural diversity in San Diego, and we look forward to welcoming old friends and new faces alike." The Book Fair, an integral part of the Open House event, will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to immerse themselves in the rich world of French literature. From classic novels to contemporary bestsellers, attendees will have the chance to browse and purchase a diverse array of French-language books, including fiction, non-fiction, children's literature, and more. Whether you're a book lover, a language learner, or simply curious about French culture, Clotilde French Bookstore is sure to have something to captivate your interest. Attendees can expect guided tours of the new facilities, fun activities, and opportunities to mingle with fellow Francophiles. Clean California San Diego Transformation Event Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Azalea Park (4036 Pepper Drive, San Diego, CA 92105) located in Manzanita Canyon Open Space within San Diego’s Pueblo Watershed. The event aims to revitalize Azalea Park. Volunteers will engage in litter cleanup, spruce up the Azalea Park Water Conservation Garden, restore park benches and tables, remove invasive species (such as Mexican Palm Fan and Eucalyptus), plant native species, and install interpretive signs. Educational tables with recycling games and activities will promote environmental stewardship and the Clean California initiative.
