  • Join us to get outside, immerse yourself in nature, and make a positive impact for the San Diego River! Join a community of like-minded volunteers working to restore the San Diego River Estuary- a highly sensitive habitat that is home to several endangered species. By removing invasive plants, you’ll directly support the return of native pollinators and wildlife, prevent erosion, improve water quality, and protect endangered species, like the California Least Tern. Together, we will create a healthier, more accessible natural space for the entire community to enjoy. This is a huge effort and a great opportunity for those looking to try out field work, connect with fellow nature lovers, make a meaningful difference for a critical and fragile ecosystem, and explore the beautiful estuary habitat! We’d love to see you there! What to Expect: Many of these invasive plant species are small annuals that require hand pulling, so be prepared to get dirty. All necessary tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your own gloves or safety glasses if preferred. Who Would Be Perfect for the Team: We welcome individuals from all walks of life! Retired folks can use their time and experience to contribute to the environment, while students seeking hands-on experience in habitat restoration can gain valuable knowledge and skills. Families are also encouraged to participate, as our activities are a great way to bond and instill a sense of stewardship for the natural world in children. If you are passionate about making a difference and want to help restore the San Diego River, you would be an ideal fit for our team. Please note: The meeting location is NEAR the address listed. We will meet at the small grassy area between the main parking lot, the San Diego River Bikeway, and Ocean Villa Inn. Here are a few tips to help you prepare for the event: Attire: Long Pants and closed-toe shoes are required Items to Bring: Reusable water bottle, hat, other forms of sun protection, snacks Weather: Light rain will not cancel the event For safety reasons, no pets are allowed at this event There are restroom facilities at this location No experience necessary! All ages are welcome, but those under 16 need supervision. Ages 16 and 17 are allowed alone but with a parent signature
  • If you care about the environment and don't mind getting a little dirty, then this may be the perfect fit for you! Join us on June 28 from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Forester Creek in Santee for our monthly community river clean-up! Come work outdoors with like-minded members of the community to help remove thousands of pounds of trash in just three hours! Each year, San Diego River Park Foundation volunteers remove more than 200,000 pounds of trash from our namesake waterway. Without our amazing volunteers, this trash would be left to pollute native animal habitats, parks and public spaces, leach contaminants into the water, and wash out into our ocean and beaches! Location: 8665 Argent Street, Santee CA 92071. Please park anywhere on Argent St or Prospect Ave. Please do not park in the brewery parking lot. Here are a few tips to help you prepare for the event: - Check-In: 7:45 a.m. - Attire: Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required - All tools and supplies will be provided - Other Things to Bring: Reusable water bottle, hat, other forms of sun protection - Weather: Light rain will not cancel the event - For safety reasons, no pets are allowed at this event There are no restroom facilities at this location. • The Muse is an archival series of San Diego’s current fashion, art, and music in one unified community. We’re back and better than ever–higher quality production and fostering comm(unity) in an open, safe, and free-flowing space! Come hang out with us and enjoy music by local artists and musicians! The Muse started as an outlet for all creatives to share their unique voice as we were coming out of a tumultuous 2 years in (mostly) solitude. It was a space for reconnecting our social-neural pathways and helped creative individuals find new collaborators to benchmark a new chapter in their creative journeys. • Trousdale is partnering with The Ally Coalition on behalf of The California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund. $1 from each ticket will support both mid-term and long-term efforts to rebuild and restore the lives of California’s most affected and underserved populations. For Trousdale—the trio of Quinn D’Andrea, Georgia Greene, and Lauren Jones—the ache of growing through change resonates deeply. Like certain long nights of childhood where growing pains can feel like every inch is aching, cramping, pinching, Trousdale understands the feeling that comes with facing down existential anxiety, and matters of the heart. “We can acknowledge the strides we’ve made and be grateful, but we’ve talked a lot about how tired we are,” Jones says with a laugh. “We’ve been thinking a lot about the tension that comes with change, wanting it, fighting it, embracing it, but learning to thrive in that moment.” On Trousdale’s upcoming LP, Growing Pains (due April 11th) the band works through those struggles to find strength, courage, and growth in each other. “From what was, something new can always grow.” D’Andrea says.
