The Maritime Museum of San Diego is thrilled to announce the return of its beloved Star of India Family Overnight Experience — an unforgettable opportunity to stay aboard the iconic 1863 bark Star of India and step back in time. Time: 2 p.m. – 9 a.m. the following morning. Includes dinner and breakfast. Held dockside at the Maritime Museum of San Diego. Space is limited – advance registration required. Families sign on as “crew” and take part in an immersive living history adventure led by our costumed, in-character instructors. This special overnight program is usually reserved for student field trips — but this summer, it’s open to families looking for a one-of-a-kind experience. Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Activities include: Raising sails, moving cargo, learning sailor skills, and more! Hosted by Scripps Cancer Center, this virtual event is for newly diagnosed patients, as well as those going through or having completed breast cancer treatment. It provides a safe space to find emotional support, understanding, new coping skills and encouragement. Group members share experiences, knowledge, hopes, fears and strengths in a relaxed and confidential setting. Third Sunday Craft is a monthly gathering of creative writers that fosters support, inspiration, and community.
