The Craft Collective offers carvers of varying skill levels a place to meet to create their own spoons or other carved items. Hand tools will be available for use during club meeting time. Carving Club is suitable for those who have completed the Introduction to spoon carving course, or have some previous carving experience. Purchase a full month of Monday evenings or drop-in at your convenience! We will supply materials and carving tools, but if you have your own, please bring them. If you’d like to purchase or bring your own tools, the following tools are what the instructor recommends for carving a simple spoon: -1” #5 sweep gouge -1.5” #3 sweep gouge -1/2” #8 sweep gouge -straight carving knife -slightly curved carving knife Ages 14+ welcome. Students have the option to weave a basket, a pendant, or an ornament. Basket Weaving is a wonderful way to recycle from nature and is also a meditative activity. No experience necessary.
