  • Saturday and Sunday, October 15 and 16 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. This workshop is designed to teach students the basics of woodworking and shop safety, and serves as a strong foundation for further exploration in woodworking. In addition to what you make, our goal is for you to leave feeling comfortable operating machinery and working in a shop environment. Students will make a cutting board, and through that process, learn how to safely use the miter saw, jointer, planer, table saw, drill press, router; as well as how to use clamps, glue up, and apply finish to their pieces. No experience necessary. Age 18+ This class is a prerequisite for Open Studio and recommended for further woodworking classes to establish safe practices in our studio. Materials provided.   • Location: Community Room Description: Explore ruins of the world right from San Diego in this dynamic & exciting new adventure! Students will survey ancient ruins using VR/AR technology. Each site will prompt a cryptography-themed problem to solve using artifact clues, while bridging ancient and modern concepts. Students will also learn a variety of core STEAM concepts like typing, electrical engineering, and computer programming fundamentals that will act as a foundation to understanding all adventure theme topics. In addition, our partnerships with other nonprofits help us to provide services to many populations around the county, from the homeless to our senior community.” Resounding Joy’s board-certified music therapists share evidence-based tools to make music a lifelong choice for reducing stress, managing symptoms, creating good memories, and improving relationships.
