Partnerships 4 Success, a project facilitated by the Institute for Public Strategies, will host the South Bay Summer Festival (SBSF), a free resource fair to bring the South Bay and Border Region area together to promote community connectivity and share resources that advance healthy living. Vendors will be available to provide disaster preparedness and response information so that residents are prepared when confronted by natural disasters. The festival will feature local entertainment, free food, and a designated youth space with games for teens and young adults ages 13-26, hosted by Safe Destination Nights.

In recognition of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in September, Clearity – a San Diego-based national ovarian cancer nonprofit organization – hosts its annual Teal Woman Celebration. This year marks Clearity’s 16th year supporting ovarian cancer patients and their families. The evening will reunite Clearity’s supporters to celebrate the progress made and help reach the ambitious goal to revolutionize the ovarian cancer experience, one person at a time, all while honoring those facing an ovarian cancer diagnosis. The Teal Woman Celebration will feature live music, a cocktail hour on the balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean, silent auction and inspired cuisine. One-of-a-kind entertainment and program will follow, along with a live auction to raise money to help ensure all people have access to Clearity’s programs and patient services. The Six String Society’s Celestial Sirens production is ready to dazzle Oceanside on Sept. 7 with several of San Diego’s most celebrated performers! This eclectic show, set in a “Living Room,” mixes some playful theater along with music ranging from soul, blues, and jazz all hosted by Sir Robert Parker. As the show unfolds, each of the Sirens take the stage to perform their own unique style of music featuring the electric Whitney Shay, (a four-time San Diego Music Award winner and Performer of the Year in 2019) who will light up the night’s sky with her powerful, soulful voice and her fun loving personality. We are also very excited to bring in San Diego Jazz icon Rebecca Jade making her long awaited Six String Society debut. For years she has toured the world with international stars including Sheila E, Dave Koz, and Elton John, but on Sept. 7th she will share the stage with Whitney and Taryn for the very first time! Over the years Jade has won multiple San Diego Music Awards including ‘Song of the Year’ in 2021 and Performer of the Year in 2020! Also, in the mix will be two-time San Diego Music Award winner Taryn Donath! She’s a true force on piano ranging from jazz to soul! Talk about a show stopper!
