  • Explore ceramic handbuilding & funky glazes! From 6-8:30 p.m., with the last class of the series from 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays, January 8, 15, 22, 29, February 12 In this 5-week series, students will learn the basics of handbuilding to create functional pieces with an emphasis on decorative techniques. Working with mid fire clay, we will explore various methods of building forms and decorative techniques with underglazes, slips, glaze, and various experimental materials. Students will complete multiple projects throughout the course with an artistic and creative approach to decorative designs. Inspired by printmaking, painting and drawing, we will explore image transfers, mark making, layering, stencils, and more! Through the use of technique and materials, students will explore the fusion of 2D art and 3D form. Students will be able to utilize a wide array of glazes and colors through the course. The instructor will have a wide array of custom decorative materials for use and sale. All materials provided. Additional materials available via the instructor for a fee. Students will complete multiple projects throughout the course while applying handmade stencils and layering techniques with colorful patterns as well textured colorful designs using the sgraffito technique. Students will be able to utilize a wide array of glazes and colors through the course. All materials provided.   • Absolute Beginner Crochet: Getting Starting! Choose from 2 upcoming series: Dec 5, 12, 19 & Jan 7, 14, 21 from 6-8 p.m. In this crochet workshop, students will learn the fundamental skills of crochet, including starting a project, basic stitches, and tying off. This three-week course will allow students to learn the basics, practice at home, and then return with their questions and learn more. No experience necessary. Students are welcome to bring their own yarn and/or hook, but it is not necessary. We will be using size 4 yarn and between 4.00mm and 6.00mm crochet hooks. You don’t have to bring your own supplies but you are welcome to. All materials included.
