The Intermediate class is slow-paced and manageable to help students take that next step in their throwing journey. In this class we will cover lidded forms, throwing off the hump, and a larger variety of vase shapes. Projects will be ready to pick up 1-2 weeks after the last class. Must have experience and be comfortable throwing the basics on the wheel. Repair your Plush! Saturday, December 21, 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Join us for a heartwarming 2-hour workshop where we will breathe new life into your beloved stuffed animals! Whether it’s a childhood companion or a cherished gift, learn hands-on techniques to mend, reinforce, re-stuff and restore plush toys. As we stitch and stuff, I will share stories of healing and celebration as we transform sentimental fabrics into custom keepsakes that honor spatial memories. This workshop teaches the art of repair — a place where every stitch tells a story, and where life’s moments, big and small, are celebrated with love. It is recommended that you wash your plush toy ahead of time planning for plenty of time for it to dry thoroughly. Use your best judgement on whether it should go in the washing machine or be gently hand washed. Choose from two upcoming dates: Sunday, December 15 -or- Saturday, January 18, from 9 a.m. -11:30 a.m. In this 2.5-hour introductory workshop, students are provided with a wooden spoon blank to power carve. The instructor will cover safety, basic carving techniques, and spoon design fundamentals. Functional and decorative spoons are fun to use and display! The instructor will share her tips on achieving beautiful curves within a design. This workshop is designed to teach you how to safely craft your own spoon through power carving. This is an introductory workshop in Power Carving. Another intro class offered is Intro to Power Carving | Carving a Spoon. Once an intro class has been taken, students are invited to explore Intermediate Power Carving with Intermediate Power Carving | Carving a Bowl. This class is appropriate for ages 18 and older.
