San Diego Folk Heritage presents an evening with virtuoso musicians Fred Beneditti on acoustic guitar and Chris Vitas on violin. Playing Celtic to jazz, they call themselves the Keltik Kharma Duo. Both are known locally and worldwide; both are music professors at Grossmont College. They have been performing and recording various styles of music together and separately and with many other well-known musicians for many years. Deepti is an assistant professor in the School of the Environment at Washington State University. Prior to joining WSU, she received her Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2015 and was a postdoctoral fellow at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University from 2015-2018. Her research aims to advance our understanding of climate hazards affecting vulnerable communities with the goal of providing actionable information for designing policies, risk-management, and adaptation planning.
