The 4th annual Birdstock Music Festival & Artisan Market transforms a closed-down La Jolla Boulevard in the seaside neighborhood of Bird Rock into a day-long street festival celebrating music and community. Admission is FREE for all ages! This year is bigger than ever, featuring appearances from San Diego's premier bands, artisans, community organizations and merchants. All aboard the North Pole Limited! Your magical journey begins at the festive Campo Depot, where you’ll collect your tickets in our historic waiting room. Don’t miss the fun! Arrive at least 30 minutes early to receive your tickets, explore our holiday gift shop, and soak up the festive atmosphere. Once onboard the North Pole Limited, prepare to be enchanted! Our jolly elf crew will entertain you with holiday sing-alongs, festive stories, and delicious hot chocolate and cookies. As the train winds through the breathtaking backcountry, keep your eyes peeled for the North Pole, where we’ll pick up Santa and his lovely Mrs. Claus! Sit back, relax, and enjoy a 90-minute adventure filled with holiday cheer. Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with every passenger on the train as we make our way back to Campo Depot. Celebrate Native American Month at the Barona Cultural Center & Museum. Experience the award-winning exhibit featuring the short film "Nya’waap Illyuw Uuchyuwp – Our Way of Knowing" and see "Sinyohow Haawaakm ‘Aaknach [Sin-yo-how Haa-waa-km Aak-nach]," the newest film in the Kumeyaay Philosophy Series. Join Sinyohow [Sin-yo-how] as she teaches her twin boys how to care for the creatures around them and each other. This second film in the series brings to life the traditional teachings and oral histories of the Barona people. These stories were told to teach lessons on how to live well and be good members of the community. Barona Museum has worked tirelessly over the past eight years to bring these important stories back to the Kumeyaay community and the public. Much of this knowledge had been lost due to the consequences of colonization and genocide. Visit the Barona Cultural Center & Museum to experience the Kumeyaay way of knowing. This inevitably leads to some stress in her relationship with her husband, played by former child evangelist Marjoe Gortner, as well as SANFORD & SON’s wisecracking LaWanda Page as the maid who won’t take shit from demons or anyone else. Throw in one crazed gardener, Mephisto-spawned lazerlight, and a brutal disregard for all rational motives, and you’re in for the best cinematic aneurysm of your life. Guests are welcome to bring cameras and capture the excitement as the animals’ leap, play, and enjoy their festive meals. Proceeds from the Turkey Bash directly support the care of over 60 rescued animals at the sanctuary.
