As part of the exhibition, "Over/Under: Woven Craft at Mingei" San Diego artist Yomar Augusto will be painting a large mural inside the Museum. Augusto's lyrical, linear paintings evoke woven forms, and visitors can watch Yomar paint the mural live in the Gallery. Born in Brasilia and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Augusto initially trained as a graphic designer before studying photography at the School of Visual Arts. He then started his own studio in Rio before completing a Masters in Type Design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, The Netherlands, then continued working in type, design, and art in both commercial and educational sectors. His projects have been presented worldwide, and he has taught at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, Bauhaus University in Weimar, and locally at San Diego State University. You and your dog(s) are invited to the 4th annual Trick or Treat for Dogs at Frosted Faces Foundation! Trick or Treat with your own pups or with adoptable senior rescue dogs. The main event is the Trick or Treat Trail with 20+ interactive stations for you and your dog to earn treats. You and your dog(s) should come in costume, and expect to go home with a lot of treats and great memories from this bonding experience! The Super Dentists are excited to announce their participation in this year’s annual Halloween Candy Buy-Back program, November 1-6 helping kids turn candy into cash. Starting the morning after Halloween, kids can bring candy to any of The Super Dentists’ six offices and exchange it for cash. Through this program, kids receive $1 for each pound of candy they bring in. The Super Dentists will donate thousands of pounds of candy collected to active-duty service members to enjoy.
