Taking place at both ICA North in Encinitas and ICA Central in Balboa Park, our 2025 summer art camp for kids and teens is designed to promote mental health and inspire creativity. Young artists in San Diego County will explore art making with a variety of supplies, acquire new skills by expanding on their art making techniques, and continue to develop their critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities under the guidance of a teaching artist during each of our one-of-a-kind week of project-based camps. The Besos Jazz Trio has been stirring up audiences with vibrant performances of music and dance since 2017. These worldly performers are a study in balancing traditions. With roots in Mexican ballet folklorico, Claudia Gomez plays percussion and tap dances. Evona Wascinski, from Poland, brings a classical virtuosity to the upright bass. And Beston Barnett, a Nashville native, plays manouche guitar and sings in five languages. “We keep it loose but alive; we leave space for what each of us does best,” says Wascinski. Together, they improvise, sing, and dance their way through an eclectic stew of swing tunes and sambas, boleros and musettes, original compositions and more. Enjoy Encinitas' vibrant downtown along the iconic Coast Highway 101 from D to I Streets from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Cyclovia is a terrific way to get out and enjoy downtown by bike, foot or other form of human-powered transportation. Along the route, check out the many fun stops. The San Diego Mountain Bike Association in partnership with Sprockids SD will host a bike skills/pump track area. Stop and learn about many bike and mobility related programs and projects at various booths hosted by the City of Encinitas and partner agencies. Back for another unforgettable season, The Marine Room’s Summer High Tide Dinner Series returns on June 23 and continues monthly through August 22, inviting guests to experience the beauty of La Jolla’s coastline as waves, driven by the moon’s gravitational pull, surge and crash against the restaurant’s floor-to-ceiling windows. Guests can reserve an early Rising Tide Dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and enjoy the start of the waves paired with either a limited à la carte menu or a three-course dinner crafted by Executive Chef Ananda Bareño for $125 per person. For those seeking the most dramatic views of the evening, the High Tide Dinner begins at 7 p.m. with a specially curated four-course menu by Chef Ananda Bareño, served as the waves reach their peak, and includes live music and a sunset toast for $165 per person. Guests may also upgrade to the Chef’s Table Experience for $250 per person, which includes a sommelier-paired wine experience, additional courses, a visit from the chef, and a take-home gift.
