The Frontwave Foundation will host its upcoming Charity Golf Tournament, bringing together community members, local businesses, and golf enthusiasts for a day of friendly competition while supporting a meaningful cause. The tournament will offer participants a great golf experience while supporting the Foundation’s mission to make a meaningful difference in the communities it serves. The event will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Emerald Isle Golf Course in Oceanside. Registration will open at 9 a.m. followed by a Shotgun Start at 11 a.m. Proceeds from the tournament will directly support the Frontwave Foundation’s Summer Backpack Drive, which will provide school backpacks and essential supplies to foster children in our community. The event is part of Frontwave’s Give360 initiative, which supports local causes, community connection, and neighborhood impact.   The event will include a full day on the course, on-course contests, raffle opportunities, and a post-tournament gathering. There will also be a silent auction and opportunities to take photos with the mascots from San Diego Strikeforce and the San Diego Clippers. Golfers of all skill levels are encouraged to participate. Participants can register to play as an individual player or bring a foursome. Grand opera is coming to the California Center for the Arts in Escondido in July! Giacomo Puccini’s one-act masterpiece "Il Tabarro", Italian for "The Cloak", is a dramatic story of love, jealousy, and betrayal. Set aboard a river barge in Paris at the turn of the century, the soul-stirring melodies will transport you to a foggy night of deception and death. "Il Tabarro" is the least-performed of the three operas in Puccini’s triple-bill Il Trittico (The Triptych). While companies frequently mount double bills of Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, they usually overlook "Il Tabarro", the first opera Puccini composed in the trio. In just one hour, you’ll be spellbound by the beauty and power of this music, whether you’re a devoted opera fan or a first-timer. That’s just half of the program, though. After the intermission, you’ll see the same story told in a completely different way: through neoclassical ballet. Featuring original choreography, this brand new adaptation of "Il Tabarro" reverses the narrative as the characters are now silent, speaking only through mesmerizingly expressive movements. This time, you’ll hear the same amazing orchestrations but without any vocal parts. Cinballera’s founders, dramatic coloratura soprano Tiffany Brannan and prima ballerina Rebekah Brannan, will be trading off as the leading lady in the opera and ballet, leading a talented cast of international performers and local professionals. "Il Tabarro" is presented in collaboration with the Temecula Valley Symphony, with Maestro John Mario Di Costanzo conducting. Dr. Gideon Rappaport, retired teacher and active dramaturge, who has spent over 45 years teaching Shakespeare, will explain how a dramaturge helps to improve the quality of the productions of Shakespeare’s plays for the benefit of the audience. Dr. Rappaport has taught Shakespeare, British Literature, and Humanities at Hamilton College, SUNY Cortland, Concordia University, the University of New Hampshire, The Bishop’s School, and La Jolla Country Day School. He has also served as theatrical dramaturge for numerous professional theatres including the Old Globe Theatre, the San Diego Repertory Theatre, the North Coast Repertory Theatre, and the Intrepid Theatre, to name just a few. Preparing the studio for "Echoes of the Vast" — the first installation and soft launch of Earth / House / Hold. Beginning with my own paintings is a way of establishing the space’s curatorial language and presence before future exhibitions and invited artists. Earth / House / Hold is an artist-run curatorial platform devoted to the slow encounter between work, material, land, time, and the wild conditions that shape perception and place. My work explores how landscapes absorb time, memory, and traces of passage through layered material processes that respond to shifting conditions, rather than depicting something fixed. Growing up between Southern California and Arizona, I remain drawn to vast arid landscapes where erosion, accumulation, atmosphere, light, and surface carry history forward. I studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York, NY with Alice Aycock and Shirley Irons, and later received an MFA from The Claremont Colleges - Claremont Graduate University and an MA in Arts Management from the Peter F. Drucker School of Management in Claremont, California. My work is held in public and private collections across the United States.
