Proceeds from this event will go toward Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, a local nonprofit dedicated to changing the lives of children from around the world through the gift of free reconstructive surgeries and related medical services, and Unbranded for a Fresh Start, a Fresh Start program dedicated to helping survivors of human trafficking by providing them with free tattoo removal services and more. Trivia is free to play with a suggested donation of just $10 which will help fund life-changing services and reconstructive surgeries for disadvantaged infants, children and teens and can also help victims of human trafficking find a fresh start. Create a unique Bandsaw Box! March 22 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Bandsaw boxes are beginner-friendly and have a variety of uses. Once you make one you can make many! In this 7-hour workshop, students will create a box made from a single block of wood using the bandsaw. Students will learn to design and create organic forms on the bandsaw while observing wood grain and learning to make cross cuts and rip cuts. We will cover shop safety and methods for cutting and gluing your box. Students will also learn sanding best practices and how to achieve a perfect finish using beeswax. We welcome all makers, from beginners to advanced. Materials are provided. We recommend students bring your own eye protection, ear protection & apron. Aprons for sale here. No experience necessary. Ages 18+ welcome.
