Local San Diego teams competing include Setanta Gaelic Football and Social Club, Na Fianna Ladies Football and Camogie Club. St. Peter's Hurling Club, and San Diego Rovers Hurling Club. Hurling has been played for more than 3,000 years, and is considered the fastest game on grass using a wooden stick called a hurley and a small leather ball called a sliotar. Scoring in Hurling, Camogie, and Gaelic Football is by hitting or kicking the ball over the crossbar for one point, or under the crossbar and into the net for three points. In this crochet workshop, students will learn the fundamental skills of crochet, including starting a project, basic stitches like single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), chain (ch) magic circle, and tying off. This three-week course will allow students to learn and practice the basics in-studio, practice at home, and then return with their questions and learn more. No experience necessary. Students are welcome to bring their own yarn and/or hook, but it is not necessary. We will be using size 4 yarn and between 4.00mm and 6.00mm crochet hooks.
