  • EC Gallery will share a compelling selection of artworks from The Art of Dr. Seuss Collection in the Gaslamp at 621 5th Avenue, San Diego on May 10 through June 13 for FREE. Visitors may explore and acquire works from Dr. Seuss’s best-known children’s books, as well as The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss, a mind-expanding collection based on decades of artwork, which Dr. Seuss created at night for his own personal pleasure. Perhaps the wackiest and most wonderful elements of the collection are Dr. Seuss’s three-dimensional “Unorthodox Taxidermy” sculptures with names such as Carbonic Walrus, Two-Horned Drouberhannis, and Goo-Goo-Eyed Tasmanian Wolghast, to name a few. For over 60 years, Dr. Seuss’s illustrations have brought a visual realization to his fantastic and imaginary worlds. His artistic talent went far beyond the printed page and yet, to this day, his Secret Art Collection is virtually unknown to the general public. Throughout his lifetime, Theodor Seuss Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) created paintings and sculpture, which he secreted away at the Dr. Seuss Estate in La Jolla, CA. Each of these Estate-Authorized limited editions has been adapted and reproduced from Theodor Seuss Geisel’s original drawings, paintings, or sculptures. Additionally, each work bears a posthumously printed or engraved Dr. Seuss signature, identifying the work as an authorized limited edition commissioned by the Dr. Seuss Estate. Artworks will be on display and available for acquisition. EC Gallery on Facebook / Instagram The Art of Dr. Seuss Collection on Instagram
  • The Haunted Amusement Park is a HAUNTED Scare Trail set on the desolate grounds of the iconic San Diego Amusement park Marshal Scotty's Playland. The once joyful sounds of fun and laughter are now replaced with screams of terror as visitors make their way through the remnants of the carnival rides from the 1960's. The haunted scare trail takes you under the old Roller Coaster, around the Ferris Wheel and in to the Bumper Cars where you will put on 3D glasses to experience out-of-this-world visuals. You will then have to find your way through the Circus maze before the side show freaks find you. But don't rest yet, you will still have to zig zag your way out of the sleep away camp cabin. See the original haunted ride repair shop, and make your way through the old attraction Graveyard where you will see the broken down cars from the roller coaster, a race car, a ferris wheel gondola still waiting for repair from the undead fix-it crew. The haunted Amusement Park also features a house of curiosities, a truly Haunted House of Horrors, a cemetery, a slaughterhouse, and much more on your nearly 1 mile walk through the spooky grounds of The Haunted Amusement Park. The History of the Amusement Park Many of our visitors remember visiting Marshal Scotty's as children. At the time it was San Diego's most popular spot to celebrate Children's birthdays. Many visitors recall having birthday parties inside of the old covered wagons or in the picnic area near the pool. Marshal Scotty's Original attractions included: a Train, Carousel, Ferris Wheel, Little Dipper Roller Coaster, Bumper cars, Go-Karts, Waterslide, Pool, Playground, Wild West Shows, Pony rides, 9 Kiddie rides and lots of fun activities. The days of playing on the Bumper Cars or going for a ride on the Ferris Wheel are long gone now and the attractions and Buildings have been left in disrepair. The Haunting look of broken down rides and the History of the park make for a great setting for our Scare trail and Haunted Houses. Screams of excitement have turned into screams of Terror at The Haunted Amusement Park! Visit: https://www.scaretrail.com/tickets The Haunted Amusement Park on Instagram and Facebook
