  • All Levels Wheel Throwing Class Schedule Saturdays, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Six-Week Session January 25, February 1, 8, 15, 22, March 1 Teaching Artist Max Anderson Description With a main focus on functional pottery, beginner students will learn how to use the equipment in the studio and how to use the wheel while more advanced students will further use the wheel as a tool to create work made partially or entirely from thrown forms. All students will be encouraged to experiment with surface and altering techniques to transform their work from pots to functional works of art. Students will leave the class with finished work they can use at home that’s dishwasher safe! We will paint from a life model on location at La Jolla Shores. Students are also welcome to draw instead of paint from the model if they prefer. Materials: Oil paints: Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red Medium, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Cadmium Lemon,* Phthalo Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Titanium White (large tube,) Cadmium Orange Pure. You'll see floats, marching bands, community groups, drill teams, vintage vehicles, horses, Santa Claus and yes ~ a camel. Church bells peal with a fly-over. There is also a Holiday Festival called Santa's Village. It features Santa visits for children, arts-and-crafts, games, music, and face-painting. Backed by his ace band, the Lunatic Fringe, his songs come to life in a dynamic blend of bluegrass, country, and rock. This year Tim will be joined also by a few special guests. This concert is for 21+ guests only. His ace band, the Lunatic Fringe, brings his songs roaring to life in various musical genres like bluegrass, country, and rock. Flan has three World Series Championship rings as a third-base coach with the San Francisco Giants, and he has released fifteen albums of original music over the years. He and his wife, Donna, created the Love Harder Project, a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization dedicated to anti-bullying and funded by proceeds from his performances and public donations. VIP concert tickets are $99.00 with premium benefits including early entrance aboard Star of India to choose seats at 6 p.m., holiday appetizer/dessert box and two complimentary drinks.
